Mission |
The mission of the Weatherization Assistance Program is to reduce the monthly energy burden of a household by improving the energy efficiency of the home. |

Funding |
The program is federally funded through the Department of Energy. The first step to make your house energy efficient is to find out what parts of your house use the most energy. A home energy audit will pinpoint those areas and suggest the most effective measures for cutting your energy costs. |

Who's Eligible |
Using the 200% of poverty level with a sliding scale, one individual - $21,660, while a family of four - $44,100. |

Eligibility Requirements |
To be eligible, the total gross household's income may not exceed 200% of the national poverty level. Preference is given to owner-occupied, elderly (60 years plus), physically disabled with verification, families with children under twelve, and households with a high energy burden (repeated high utility bill). |

Types of Assistance |
Based on the home inspection, the extent of services to be provided is contingent on available funding.
